The door creaked open by itself, revealing a room that hadn't been touched in years.
She found the note tucked into her coat pocket—she hadn't put it there.
The clock struck midnight, and the lights flickered off one by one.
"You're not supposed to be here," the voice whispered from the darkness.
He had only taken one step inside when the floor suddenly gave way beneath him.

Fantasy & Sci-Fi
The stars blinked out one by one, leaving the sky completely black.
A single feather drifted from the sky, glowing with an unearthly light.
The moment she touched the ancient book, the symbols on the page began to rearrange themselves.
"You've been chosen," the stranger said, pressing the key into my hand.

The dragon tilted its head and, to my utter shock, said, "You again?"

The barcode on my wrist started glowing, and I knew my time was up.
