Recap Past Simple

When: 

Actions that started and finished in the past

How:

• Regular verbs: verb + ed/d
• Irregular verbs: learn by heart
  

Negative : Didn’t + infinitive (whole verb)

Question: Did+ subject + infinitive (whole verb)

Recap Present Perfect

When:

A past action has a result in the present, so it is still noticable.

Past experiences or situations that are still true.

For, Yet, Never, Ever, Just, Already, Since --> FYNE JAS, So far and recently.

How:

• Positive: have/has + the past participle
  

                Regular verbs: verb + ed/d

                Irregular verbs: third row of irregular verbs

• Negative: have/has + not + the past participle
• Question: have/has + subject + past participle
  

He … (to win – just) a tennis competition.

I … (to do) gymnastics since I was little.

When I was younger, I … (to want) to play rugby.

Past simple and Present Perfect

I … (to be) a runner for years.

I … (to started) enjoying sports.

A few years ago you … (not – to enjoy) sports.
