This year we will work on your personal growth by:


  • Using all kinds of English sources about various topics to expand your world and knowledge.
  • Teaching you how to use reliable sources to substantiate your ideas and opinions.
  • Getting you out of the "comfortable" zone and into the learning zone.
  • Helping you achieve goals you set for yourself in terms of writing, speaking, listening and reading.
  • Showing you how to learn from your (English) mistakes and how do deal with disappointment or  'failure'. 
  • Discussing and practicing the tools you can use to learn/improve something.
  • Challenging you to stay curious!

Why start with self-evaluation of all the skills :
  • You get a good idea of what level you are at and what needs to happen to achieve your personal goals. 
  • You learn how to recognize and use reliable sources.
  • Improving and self-assessing your skills will be useful for when we deal with them later on.
  • You expand your vocab using all the skills
  • You will notice that there is nothing you can't achieve if you work for it and have some confindence!

  • Understand the structure (verbanden) and central idea (hoofdgedachte) of a text.

  • Recognise arguments for and against, positive and negative.

  • Recognise examples and their function in the text.
