The present

Om te praten over het heden (nu) kun je the present tense gebruiken.

In Unit 1 worden de Present Simple & Present Continuous daarvoor gebruikt.

Present Simple

Als iets altijd, nooit, herhaaldelijk of regelmatig gebeurt, gebruik dan de Present Simple.

Daar horen de volgende signaalwoorden bij:

always, never, sometimes, every day.

Present Simple

De vorm:

stam + s (bij he/she/it - shit-regel)

Voorbeeld:

He eats kebab every day.

I never work on Wednesday

Present Simple:
I ___ a carrot every Thursday Night

Present Simple

Present Simple:

Present Continuous

Als iets nu bezig is of gebeurt, gebruik dan de Present Continuous.

Daar horen de volgende signaalwoorden bij: at the moment, right now

Present Continuous

De vorm:

am, are of is + werkwoord -ing

Voorbeeld:

I am teaching at the moment

Present Continuous:
Pick the present continuous.

1. We hadn't been there!
2. We weren't going to go there.
3. We have never been there.
4. We are never going to go there again!

Present continuous:
Pick the present continuous.

1. We are eating lunch at the cafeteria.
2. They have eaten lunch at the cafeteria before.
3. She ate lunch at the cafeteria.
4. He has eaten lunch at the cafeteria.

Present continuous

1. aan te geven dat iets NU aan de gang is. Signaalwoorden zijn o.a: "now, at the moment, listen..." enz.

2. aan te geven dat je iets van plan bent. Meestal staat er bij wanneer je in de toekomst dat van plan bent.

3. irritatie aan te geven

Maak de present continuous door: vorm van 'to be' (am/is/are) + ww+ ing

Susanne is singing right now

Present Continuous:
Pick the present continuous.

1. She walks from the car park to the shopping centre.
2. She had been walking from the car park to the shopping centre.
3. She was walking from the car park to the shopping centre.
4. She is walking from the car park to the shopping centre.

Present Continuous:
Pick the present continuous.

1. I am going to be waiting at the crossroads.
2. I was waiting at the crossroads.
3. I am waiting at the crossroads.
4. I will be waiting at the crossroads.

Present Simple / Continuous

Als iets altijd, nooit, herhaaldelijk of regelmatig gebeurt, gebruik dan de Present Simple

Als iets nu bezig is of gebeurt, gebruik dan de Present Continuous

> I am walking

> He isn't doing.                                                               

> I don't go/ She doesn't go

Intensifiers

Je gebruikt intensifiers om de betekenis van een ander woord te versterken.

Ze staan vaak direct voor de woorden waar ze iets over zeggen
