Present simple/Simple present

• Als er sprake is van vaste tijden: aankomst/ vertrek/ opening/ sluiting/ aanvang/ feit/zintuigelijke waarneming,/ geestelijke staat of voorkeur enz.
  The train leaves at 6 p.m.
  I always get up at 7.
  We have English on Monday.

Pesent Continuous: ww + ing

• bij afspraken met iemand anders
  I am visiting Tom tomorrow.
  
• bij plannen waarvoor voorbereidingen zijn getroffen
  I am attending that concert next weekend.
  
• bij formele/zakelijke afspraken/bijeenkomsten
  I am speaking at the business meeting next week.

FUTURE:

2. be + going to (They are going to purchase a new house)

• Aangeven dat iets in de toekomst gaat gebeuren
  It will be warm and sunny tomorrow.
  
• Bij spontane acties; dingen die je je voorneemt op het moment dat je het zegt (I think)

• Na een wens, veronderstelling, belofte, aanbod of voorspelling

• Bij plannen in de toekomst
  I am going to change the tyres of the car this afternoon.

• Als er duidelijke aanwijzingen zijn dat er iets gaat gebeuren

  I am going to be late for school.
  

Maar:

Bij I en we kan je naast will ook shall gebruiken:

• One day I shall pass my exams.

Bij I en we als je een voorstel doet of naar iemands voorkeur of besluit vraagt moet je shall gebruiken:

• Shall we go out tonight?
• When shall I come and visit you?
