In, op, achter, naast, onder, etc.

In/On/At zijn de meest voorkomende voorzetsels van PLAATS (prepostions of place)

In >in een (afgesloten) ruimte of bij wegen,steden en landen

I am in the classroom. He lives in Meadow Road.

On > op een oppervlakte of openbaar vervoer

My cat eats dinner on the table. He is on the bus to Zwolle.

At = bij huisnummers en (namen van) gebouwen

She lives at number seven. Today, I am at school. 

Openbaar vervoer:

in = je moet zitten (taxi)

on = je hoeft niet perse te zitten (bus, plane)
