Rome was founded in 753BC
It grew from seven settlements on hills around the river Tiber.
Trade was important for Rome.

509 BC - 48 BC.

27 BC - 500 AD.
Kings ruled Rome. But they were helped by the senate. But the last king, Superbus, was kicked out of Rome because he was hated so much.
Rich families delivered people for the senate. In the senate laws were being passed. Two consuls were the leaders of the senate.
Ceasar was a general who took all the power in Rome, and became a dictator. He was killed in 44BC, but his adoptive son August, became the first emperor.
