During the previous lessons we read a text about Hadrian's wall; A gigantic wall that stretches from the Eastern coast to the westernmost coast of North West England. Also, we covered the present perfect continuous tense (I have been working out lately) and the present perfect tense (I have never visited the gym in my life).

- In het Engels leggen mensen meer nadruk op de tijdsduur wanneer zij de 'have/has' + 'been' + 'werkwoord + ing' - vorm gebruiken: 
-I look fit because I have been working out lately. (de laatste tijd)
- Why don't you pick up your phone? I have been trying to reach you the past few hours!. (irritatie)
- We are tired because we have been swimming for hours. (reden)

*vaak gaat het dan over een tijdsperiode van: een dag, een paar uur, een paar minuten of een paar weken.

The present perfect
Deze vorm wordt gebruikt als het over algemene dingen gaan die startten vanaf het verleden & nog doorgaan: Bijvoorbeeld hoe lang je al ergens woont.
vorm: have/has + ww + ed / 3e vorm (onregelmatig ww) 
Signaalwoorden: for, yet, never, ever, just , already, since, how long (FYNEJASH)
My uncle has lived in Canada for fifteen years. 
She has worked at the restaurant since her sixteenth.
My parents have never been to a country outside of Europe.
