How to write an article?

What is the difference between a Report and an Article?

Article

You write an article about a topic in order to inform and entertain. 

Personal experiences and stories. 

Think of it as a small blog post. 

Article

Introduction: topic.

Paragraph 1:

Who did you learn it from?

Paragraph 2:

Why is it useful?

Conclusion:

Summarize, repeat opinion, ending sentence.

Title!

Paragraph 1 - Introduction

In the introduction you:

- Think of a title that will catch the reader's attention.

- Include the topic, so what this article is about!

- Can address the reader directly, for example by asking them a question.

Can you think of a catchy title?

Do you ever think about the most important possessions you can hardly live without? Would you need them on a desert island? Well, for me it'd be my phone accompanied by a solar charger and a supply of my favorite chocolate.

Paragraph 2, 3 (& 4) - Body

Describe subtopics that are related to your main topic in paragraph 1 and make sure that you include your opinion in each paragraph.

Tips: Body

- Give specific examples to bring your article to life.

- Use informal language to involve the reader.

- Don't forget to express your opinion.

- Be personal

I'd like to sequence my ideas. What could be a useful phrase?

1. Firstly,... Secondly,... Finally...
2. At first,... At second,... At last,...
3. On the left,... On the right,...
4. On the one hand,... On the other hand,...

Paragraph 5 - Conclusion

In the last paragraph you:

- Finish with a sentence which summarizes what you have said.

- Can end with an interesting last sentence.

- Can end with a question to the reader.

- Give your opinion or express your feelings.
