Rubric

- step 1: read the rubric 

- step 2: discuss the rubric with classmates

- step 3: let's clarify together what this is about. 

Do you know why rubrics are used?

Peer feedback on content and organization, organization, development,  comprehension of literary texts, thoughtful analysis only first TWO criteria

Guidelines arguments 

- Structure your arguments in a way that the final argument is the most important. Make sure that the two previous arguments lead up to this final argument. 

- Do your arguments provide an answer to your question? If not, you may have to be more specific, cut out the details and be more focussed. 

Checklist

- Check each other's essay with the rubric. 

- Use the rubric to guide you and keep in mind that the arguments should give an answer to the question. Is the essay question clear and focussed enough? How is the structure? Is the final argument the most important?  Give 3 positive comments and 2 possible improvements. I expect you to help eachother and exchange thoughts.

1) At the end of this class, you will have started writing your second draft of your essay on Brave New World.  / started creating a pto 4 essay question.

2. Write the actual essay.

3. Use rubric to give peer-feedback

4. rewrite based on peer-feedback + hand in

5. teacher feedback 

6. start with second essay -> create mindmap ideas

7. write an outline

May 16: continue writing, use peer feedback 

May 22nd: give eachother peer feedback based on rubric

May 23d: rewrite essay with peer feedback and hand in Friday 26th, not later. 

After this, one essay where you compare both The Handmaid's Tale & Brave New World with a question given by us.

- Rewrite the essay based on this feedback you were given.

- Proof read your essay or let someone else read it again. 

- Hand in your essay on paper. You can put it in my pigeon hole or in class, final opportunity is Friday.
