This part tests your ability to identify the gist of what the speakers say, their attitude and the main points, and to interpret the context they are speaking in.

• Before you listen, read both tasks, underlining the key ideas in each option.
  
• Listen to words and phrases which mean the same as the key ideas you have underlined. Listen to the answers of both tasks. You may hear the answer to Task Two before the answer to Task One.
  
• Wait until each speaker has finished talking before you choose your answers.

TASK TWO

For questions 26-30, choose from the list (A-H) what each speaker found hardest at the start of their first year at university. Write down your answers.
