Bij de lijdende vorm is het niet belangrijk wie iets doet, maar de actie is wel belangrijk. Dus wat er gebeurt.


Someone broke our kitchen window. > active
Our kitchen window was broken. > passive

Het onderwerp van de zin ondergaat iets.

Het onderwerp voert de actie niet uit.

Wil je toevoegen 'wie' de actie uitvoert?

Dan kan je  'by' toe voegen en daarna de persoon/ding achter aan de zin te zetten.

Dan komt eerste de persoon en dan de tijd.
Staat de tijd vooraan de zin, dan laat je deze zo staan.
