What is irrigation?

Irrigation:

Proces of moving water from a
river to land.
This water is use for argiculture.

Different types of irrigation (note)

Surface irrigation: (flood irrigation)

Where water is scattered (verspreid)
over the surface of the ground 
(grondoppervlakte)

Sprinkler irrigation:

Water is spread over the land 
via a sprinkler.

Lot of water is lost due to 
evaporation (verdamping)

Drip irrigation:

Plant are being watered drip by drip.
Water is place directly at the 
root (wortel) of the plant.

Saves a lot of water.
