The Elgin marbles

The Elgin Marbles (/ˈɛlɡɪn/) are a collection of Ancient Greek sculptures from the Parthenon and other structures from the Acropolis of Athens, removed from Ottoman Greece by Lord Elgin (a British diplomat) and shipped to Britain. The sculptures are now held in the British Museum in London.

Recently Risi Sunak, the British prime minister, canceled a meeting with his Greek counterpart because Sunak refuses to return the sculptures as requested by the Greek PM.
