Period 4 lesson 1

Ss learn how to ask for and give information over the phone, as well as how to use friendly intonation. They also learn vocabulary related to phoning. The context is a listening where they listen to someone phoning for information.

Speaking

First: think 25 seconds.

Then: speak 25 seconds.

To start

Work in pairs and discuss the questions.

1. Do you prefer to send voice messages or text messages? Why?

2. Do you like receiving voice messages? Why/Why not?

Put Ss in small groups to discuss the questions. When they have finished, nominate a student from each group to share their ideas with the class.

Our goal today

Learn about: how to ask for and give information over the phone, as well as how to use friendly intonation.

Vocabulary: related to phoning.
