2. Tags

Noemen we ook wel "aangeplakte vragen".

Gebruik je als je wilt dat iemand het met je eens óf oneens is.

Example:

You are smart, aren't you?

[vervolg tags]

Positive statement, question tag negative.

We have got a car, haven't we?

Negative statement, question tag positive.

James doesn't like birds, does he?

dus "not" staat voor óf na de komma!!!

(en niet aan beide kanten van de komma)

how to make tags?

1. Gebruik in de tag hetzelfde persoonlijk voornaamwoord óf het vnw dat hoort bij het woord of de naam in de zin.
Toby doesn't like dogs, does he?   

She hasn't got a car, has she?

2. Gebruik 'NOT' 1 keer: óf in de zin, óf in de tag.
She is tall, isn't she?                or                    She isn't tall, is she?

3. Staat er in de zin een hulpwerkwoord (to be, to do, to have) dan gebruik je dat ook in de tag.

I have got a nice jacket, haven't I?

4. Staat er géén hulpwerkwoord in de zin?Gebruik een vorm van 'to do'.

The girls play tennis, don't they?

Jill doesn't like painting,.......................

1. does Jill?
2. doesn't Jill?
3. does she?
4. doesn't she?

He hasn't got a girlfriend, .......................

1. has he?
2. hasn't he?
3. has the boy?
4. hasn't the boy?
