Conjunctions (voegwoorden)

Aan het eind van deze les weet je:

- wat conjunctions zijn

- hoe je conjunctions gebruikt 

Gebruik

- Twee dingen aan elkaar plakken;

- woorden, zinsdelen of hele zinnen.

- Soort voegwoord geeft de relatie tussen woorden/zinnen.

Opsomming

• And ... (en)

    > She likes playing tennis and often does so.

• Both ... and (zowel ... als)

    > She likes to play both tennis and basketball. 

Reden

• Because ... (omdat) 

    > I made pizza because I am hungry.

Gevolg

• So ... (dus) 

    > He was rude, so I said no.

Tegenstelling

• But ... (maar) 

    > He has glasses, but he doesn't wear them.

• Although ... (alhoewel)

    > She failed the exam, although she studied very hard.

Keuze

• Or ... (of) 

    > Do you want to watch a funny film or scary film?

• Either ... or (of ... of)

    > You can do the work either now or at home.

Tijd

• As soon as ... (zodra) 

    > I will call you as soon as I hear more.

• Until ... (tot, totdat)

    > They had to wait until it stopped raining.

• When ... (wanneer)

    > He was sad when they forgot his birthday.

Voorwaarde

• If ... (als)

    > My dad always asks if I need help.

• Unless ... (tenzij) 

    > They can't make it to the finals unless they win this match.
