• Het Engels heeft maar één vorm voor jij, u en jullie: you.

• Als je over dingen spreekt, gebruik je it. Dit is ook het geval bij dieren waarvan het geslacht onbekend of onbelangrijk is. Bijvoorbeeld: That is a parrot. It sits on a plant; Dat is een papegaai. Hij zit op een plant.
  

• Bij de vertaling van zij moet je goed opletten of het over 1 persoon gaat (= she) of over meerdere personen (= they).
