Present Simple

When	Something that happens: * regularly / frequently * always / never * schedule

Signal words	always, never, often, sometimes, on Tuesday, every month

Present Continuous

When	When something happens now . Something that happens for a while .

Fill in the correct form of the verbs between (brackets). 

Always pick between the present simple or present continuous. 

Witnesses ___ (say) that the wolf ate the pigs.

Police ____ (question) a man on suspicion of murder.

The man ____ (claim) that the gold came from a castle in the sky.

Complete the fairytale by filling in the correct form (present simple or present continuous) of the verb

Write the answers without a comma inbetween

Hansel and Gretel _____ (live) with their dad in a small wooden house in the forest.

Dad ______ (be) a poor woodcutter. He _________ (have) a new wife.

The wife ______ (hate) the children. Right now she ______ (scream) that they need to leave.

The woodcutter ______ (take) the children into the forest. Hansel ______ (drop) breadcrumbs while they walk.

Dad is suddenly gone. Now Hansel and Gretel ______ (try) to find the way home but the crumbs are gone.

Suddenly they see a house made of candy. An old woman _____ (live) there.

Every day, the old woman _____ (feed) Hansel and Gretel because she _____ (want) to eat them.

One day, the woman ______ (light) the oven. Now, the flames ______ (burn) brightly.

Suddenly, the old woman _____ (try) to push Hansel into the oven! But they ______ (push) her in instead.

When the children ______ (return) home, their father ______ (be) very happy to see them.
