What to do in Wales?
Did you know ...?
Wales has two official languages: English and Welsh. Welsh is a Celtic language and children in Wales learn it in school until they’re 16 years old. All town names are also in Welsh. The longest town name is 58 letters long: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. It translates as: ‘The Church of St Mary in the hollow of the white hazel near the rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio near a red cave’. Can you pronounce it?
