Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by British author Jane Austen and published in 1813.  Set in rural England, it centers on the Bennet family with five daughters who will not inherit their family's estate because they're female. Therefore, it is paramount to the family that at least one of the daughters marries a wealthy man who can provide for the other four sisters. The story revolves around the spirited Elizabeth Bennet and the proud Mr. Darcy, exploring the complexities of love, class, and social expectations.

Frankenstein
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley was first published in 1818.  It follows the ambitious scientist Victor Frankenstein, who, driven by a desire to overcome death and unlock the secrets of life, succeeds in giving life to a being of his own creation.  However, this is not the perfect specimen he imagines that it will be, but rather a hideous creature who is rejected by Victor and mankind in general. The Monster seeks its revenge through murder and terror. The story unfolds through a series of letters and narratives, recounting Victor’s journey and the consequences of his creation.
