Warming up

Grouping: the whole group

Time: 5-7 minutes

Purpose: voice articulation, team work.

What? You're going to read the tongue twisters as a whole group. If someone messes up, the whole group has to start over again. Finish within 5 minutes!

Warming up > Tongue twisters

• Red leather, yellow leather, good blood, bad blood
• To the tip of the tongue to the top of the teeth
• Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers
• She sells seashells by the seashore.
• Rubber baby buggy bumpers
• How much wood can a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? As much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

Activity 1 > Building trust

Grouping: the whole group

Time: 2 minutes

Purpose: trust, teamwork

What? 

Without talking, you have to stand in a line from shortest to tallest. 

You have one minute to do this.

Purpose: trust, teamwork

What? 

Now you have to stand in a line from youngest to oldest, but in one minute and a half. 

Activity 2 > 2 truths, 1 lie

Grouping: 3 people per group

Time: 10 minutes

Material: pen + paper 

What? Your teacher is going to divide you into groups of four. For yourself, write down three statements about yourself on a piece of paper. Two statements have to be true, and one has to be false (a lie). Your groupmates have to figure out which statement is the lie.  

Activity 3 > Improvisation

Grouping: 6 people per group

Time: 8 minutes

Material: none

What? In groups, you're going to form a line. One person has to pantomime a certain action they're doing, when someone asks: "What are you doing?", the performer needs to say they're doing something else entirely. The second person then mimes that action and you continue on in your groups.
