Present perfect 1
You use the present perfect when you want to say that something has been happening for a while. You usually find the signal-words for and since in these sentences:

We have lived here for three years
- We wonen hier al drie jaar
She hasn't talked to Simon since 2015
- Ze heeft Simon al sinds 2015 niet meer gesproken

Slide 6 - Slide

Present perfect 3
You also use the present perfect if something has happened a short while ago:

I have already packed my bags
- Ik heb mijn tassen al (in)gepakt
Chris has just finished his book
- Chris heeft net zijn boek uitgelezen

Slide 7 - Slide

Present perfect 2
If you want to say that something has happened in the past, but you don't know when exactly it happened, you also use the present perfect:

We haven't visited the church before.
- We hebben de kerk nooit eerder bezocht
Have you visited  grandma in the hospital yet?
- Ben je al bij oma op bezoek geweest in het ziekenhuis?

Slide 8 - Slide

Present perfect form
Present perfect =  has / have + past participle (voltooid deelwoord)

Regelmatige werkwoorden = voltooid deelwoord = zelfde als past simple vorm:
- Something has happened to him (happened = past simple vorm = voltooid deelwoord vorm)
- Have you tried to call him? (tried = past simple vorm = voltooid deelwoord vorm)

Slide 9 - Slide

Has or have?
In positive (+) sentences:
I have + ww
He/she/it has + ww
We/they have + ww
You have + ww
In negative (-) sentences:
I haven't + ww
He/she/it hasn't + ww
We/they haven't + ww
You haven't + ww
In questions (?)
Have I + ww
Has he/she/it + ww
Have we/they + ww
Have you + ww

Examples:
