You use the Present Continuous to say something is going on right now.  Also known as: ING-vorm.

I am shopping with my sister in Amsterdam.
He is writing an email to his best friend.

Vorm van To Be + hele werkwoord met ING erachter.

Hoe maak je een vragende zin in het Engels?`
Bijvoorbeeld:
Sarah is smart. ----> Is Sarah smart?
Joey can play the piano. ----> Can Joey play the piano?

In dit voorbeeld draai je het onderwerp en het gezegde om.

Slide 10 - Slide

Questions...? Met hulpwerkwoord To Do.
Bijvoorbeeld:
He has brown hair. ----> Does he have brown hair?
She works every Saturday. ---> Does she work every Saturday?

Werkwoord veranderd naar het hele werkwoord (Infinitive)

Slide 11 - Slide

Negations....ontkenningen
Standaard zin: I like broccoli.
Question: Do you like broccoli?
Negations: I do not (don't) like broccoli.
He does not (doesn't) like broccoli.
We do not (don't) like broccoli.

Slide 12 - Slide

Tag questions
- You use tag questions to ask for confirmation (bevestiging)
In Dutch we say: Toch? after the question.
For example:
France is a beautiful country, isn't it?
That artist can't sing, can he?

When the first verb is postive, the tag is negative.

Slide 13 - Slide

How to make Tag questions:
- Je herhaalt alleen de hulpwerkwoorden (auxiliary verbs) en veranderd deze van positief naar negatief of van negatief naar positief.
Dit is het eerste werkwoord in de zin:
She doesn't pay attention, does she?
They are really good at playing football, aren't they?

Slide 14 - Slide

Geen hulpwerkwoord?
- Als er geen hulpwerkwoord in de zin is, dan gebruik je het werkwoord To Do in de tag question.
For example:
- He works at the library, doesn't he?
- She crashed the car into the wall, didn't she?
