Vragen maken met was/were

Als je een vraag wilt maken met was/were, dan draai je de eerste twee woorden om.

  • He was angry this morning. 
  • Was he angry this morning? 
  • You were at school on Wednesday 
  • Were you at school on Wednesday? 

Ontkenningen maken met was/were

Als je een ontkenning wilt maken met was/were, dan zet je not (n’t) achter was of were.

  • She was ill yesterday. 
  • She wasn’t ill yesterday. 
  • They were home today. 
  • They weren’t home today.

Vragen maken met did

Als er geen was/were in de zin staat dan gebruik je did. Als je een vraag wilt maken met did, zet did vooraan in de zin en zet je het werkwoord zonder –ed achter het onderwerp.

  • He saved a cat last weekend. 
  • Did he save a cat last weekend? 
  • They walked a mile today. 
  • Did they walk a mile today? 

Ontkenningen maken met did

Als er geen was/were in de zin staat dan gebruik je did. Als je een ontkenning wilt maken met did, dan gebruik je didn’t + werkwoord zonder –ed. 

  • He didn’t save a cat last weekend? 
  • They didn't walk a mile today.

Grammar: Bijwoorden van Frequentie
  • Bijwoorden van frequentie zijn woorden die aangeven hoe vaak iets gebeurt. 
Vb. always, never, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never

  • Bijwoorden van frequentie staan voor het werkwoord
Vb. I always get nervous before a concert.
Vb. I never feel relaxed before an important match.

  • Let op! Als je am / are / is / was / were ziet dan staat het bijwoord van frequentie achter het werkwoord 
Vb. I am often busy with my hobbies.
Vb. Louise was never nervous about going on stage.
