Present Simple

De Present Simple wordt gebruikt bij het beschrijven van een feit of een gewoonte (iets dat regelmatig gebeurt).

De Present Simple maak je door het hele werkwoord te gebruiken. Voorbeeld: I look, you kiss, we talk.

Let op! Uitzondering bij he, she en it: dan zet je –s achter het hele werkwoord.Voorbeeld: she walks, he runs, it falls. (check booklet voor meer uitzonderingen.)

Present Continuous

De Present Continuous gebruik je om aan te geven dat iets nu aan de gang is. 

De Present Continuous maak je met een vorm van ‘to be’ (am/are/is) gevolgd door werkwoord + ing. Voorbeeld: I am walking, she is talking

Let op! Uitzondering wanneer je een werkwoord hebt dat eindigt op een –e, dan laat je de –e weg voor je de –ing toevoegt. Voorbeeld: He is writing (to write)

Finish the sentence using an adjective or adverb:
The class is ______ loud today. (terrible)

Adjectives and Adverbs

Je gebruikt een adjective (bijvoeglijk naamwoord) om een zelfstandig naamwoord te omschrijven. Bijvoorbeeld: A beautiful house

Adverbs (bijwoorden) geven meer informatie over een werkwoord, een bijvoeglijk naamwoord en een ander bijwoord.  

Bijvoorbeeld: she asked nicely

Check de grammar booklet voor de uitzonderingen.

1. Wait! I _____(help) you with that heavy box.
2. She _____ (go) to the dentist tomorrow at 2.

Use the correct future tense:
1. Here is the weather forecast. Tomorrow ___(be) dry and sunny.
2. The train ______(leave) at 12:00 o'clock.

Future tense

1. Will + ww = I think it will rain today. 

voorspelling zonder bewijs, aanbod, verzoek, belofte

2. "to be" + going to + ww = The newspaper said it is going to rain today. 

voorspelling met bewijs, plannen

3. present continuous = I am meeting my friends at 8 o'clock tonight. 

plannen met afspraak

4. present simple = School starts at 8:20 in the morning. 

vaste tijden (roosters, reis schema's, etc.)
