Na ww die een WENS / BEVEL uitdrukken: to + ww.

  • She would like her to do the groceries.
  • The teacher asked them to be quiet.
  • My boss expected his employees to work hard.

Deze werkwoorden zijn: 
ask, expect, mean, order, tell, warn, would like, would love.

Na let, make en ww die een waarneming met je zintuigen aangeven: ww - zonder 'to'. (Dit doe je vaak vanzelf al goed, want anders klinkt het raar!)

Tom let me use his phone. (dus niet: Tom let me to use his phone.)
He makes me feel terrible.
They heard him come home after the party.
I saw you steal that necklace.
We felt the air turn cold.
