WHEN: 

• Describe an action that has been completed.
• Describe things that happened in the past.

HOW: add -ed to the base verb

Examples

1. She played soccer with her friends last weekend. (play + -ed)

2. They watched a movie together on Friday. (watch + -ed)

3. We .............dinner together last night. (cook + -ed)

4. She .............to school every day last year. (walk)

Exceptions

Words that end in -y and the letter before the -y is a consonant (medeklinker) (not a vowel), the -y changes to -i before adding the -ed:

• to study - studied
