As vs Like

Like = similar to 

When something is similar to something else. Not exactly the same, but similar. definitely for appearances. 

Always followed by a 'zelfstandignaamwoord' or a 'voorzetsel'

The floor is slippery, it's like ice. 

Oh, this house is spacious just like a castle. 

I hate weather like this; cold, dark and overcast.

As = in the role of 

When something is exactly that --> person or a job

usually before a 'persoonsvorm' and a 'werkwoord'
