Ethnic groups

• Each ethnic group has its own culture, traditions, languages  and beliefs.  

• Nigeria is a very multicultural society.

Federal states

• To make the different groups easier to manage, Nigeria was divided in federal states.

•  Each state governs itself for a large part.

• The states and therefore population groups have a lot of autonomy.
