4. Transport by Pipeline
For transporting natural gas or liquids like oil and water, etc. pipelines are often used. These are a cheap and efficient way to transport such materials. This is because it is an automatic process. It has a constant flow of goods and doesn't need drivers or much labour. Another advantage is it can go through difficult geography like rivers and mountains where roads or rail are more difficult to build.

However, it is limited. We can only, of course, use it for liquids and the capacity is fixed when it is built. It is quite expensive to build at first. Also, because most of the liquids sent through a pipeline are highly flammable, accidents and vandalism can have very negative effects.
