There are
two
ways to form a question in the present simple.

Rule 1:
With the verb
to be
and auxiliary verbs like
can, may and will
, you place the verb at the beginning of the sentence.
Examples:

you tell what is the time?

Rule 2:
With any other (main)
verb
, you add an extra verb to the beginning of the sentence: to do (do or does). The main verb changes to the infinitive.
