Eindigt het zelfstandig naamwoord op: -s/-sh/-ch/-x/-z (s-klank) , dan krijg je +es 
(bus > buses / dish > dishes / match > matches / box > boxes / fez > fezzes)
Algemeen 3
Eindigt het zelfstandig naamwoord op medeklinker+o, dan krijg je +es 
(tomato > tomatoes / hero > heroes > echo > echoes)
Algemeen 4
Als het zelfstandig naamwoord eindigt op medeklinker+y, dan krijg je -ies op het eind (city > cities / baby > babies / country > countries), de -y valt weg
Let op
Eindigt het zelfstandig naamwoord op -f, dan verandert de -f in -ves 
(wolf > wolves / knife > knives)
