Gerund

Je gebruikt de '-ing vorm' als een soort zelfstandig naamwoord:

 1. Als het onderwerp van de zin.

Example: Biking in the mall is forbidden. 

2. Na voorzetsels. 
Example: She's fond of cycling.

3. Na werkwoorden die zeggen hoe je iets vindt. (like, love, hate, enjoy, etc.)

Example: I love going to the movies. 

Gerund = hele werkwoord als
zelfstandig naamwoord

EXAMPLES

I love gaming (ik hou van gamen)                            gaming = gerund

She loves shopping (ze houdt van winkelen) shopping = gerund

learning can be fun (leren kan leuk zijn)             learning = gerund

Verb + ing

 a verb (ww) + ing = noun (zelfstandig naamwoord)

We call this: the gerund

shop (verb) + ing = shopping (noun)               = gerund

game (verb) + ing = gaming                                  = gerund

eat (verb) + ing = eating                                            = gerund
