I have finally arrived in Australia for my exchange year! When I was packing my stuff at home, I started to get a bit nervous. I have never travelled this far by myself before. I have moved in with two really nice people and their son Jonah. Yesterday, Jonah knocked on my door while I was studying. He asked me if I wanted to play ‘soccer’. Apparently, Australians call football ‘soccer’. I thought only Americans did! He also says ‘G’day!’ instead of ‘Hello!’ The funniest thing he has said so far is: ‘Mum, where are my thongs?’ While he was searching for his ‘thongs’, I looked up what the word means here... flip-flops! Isn’t that hilarious?
