- Can cause health problems if you consume too much!

Why is sleep important? 
- 6th graders should get anywhere between 9 to 12 hours of sleep. 
- Children who do not get enough sleep have a higher risk for health and behavior problems. 
-  Sleep is time for your bodies to recharge and
 retain information you learned throughout the day. 
- With enough sleep your body is able to 
restore energy, grow, and your brain
 continues developing.

Why is it important to make healthy choices? 
- Making healthy food choices help prevent health conditions and avoid illness.
- A healthier lifestyle helps you have more energy. 
- Healthy habits improve mental health. 
- Healthy habits help increase confidence, develop better social skills, and have a more positive outlook.

Unhealthy:
-  Skipping breakfast
- Not drinking enough water 
- Too much screen time
- Not playing outside 
- Staying up too late
Healthy:
 - Easy grab foods such as hard-boiled eggs, muffins, toast, etc.
- Carrying a reusable water bottle (8 oz: 6-8 cups a day)
- Limit amount of TV (recommended is 2 hours total)
- At least 60 minutes a day outside, walk, play games, etc.
- Go to bed early, recommended is 9-12 hours!
