Run-on sentences 

2 or more independent clauses which are not connected properly. 

Usually a Punctuation issue

a. Colon

c. Full stop

Rambling

a. Putting too much info into your introduction/paragraph.

b. Stick to the point.

c. Plan before you write!!! and then stick to it. 

Introduction structure to avoid rambling:

 Hook reader with good point/anecdote/statistics

 Restate the prompt/subject

 Write your thesis statement
