Tip 2: scanning and skimming
Before reading the text:
  • Look at the titles, pictures, paragraphs, headings.
  • Then read the first question.
  • Look at subheadings and pictures and find the right section in the text.

Tip 3: chronological order
Questions are usually asked in chronological order.
Question 1 - beginning of text
Question 2 - below that

Texts can be very long!
Train yourself to scan and skim texts to find the right sections.

Use the marker to focus on the keywords in the questions

Tip 5: What does the expert say?
Mark the name in the text.
Find the quotation marks
Find words with similar meaning in the answers

Finding the name and quotation marks helps to find the answer quickly.

Tip 6: Dealing with MC questions
  • Read the question carefully.
  • Mark the keywords.
  • Find the relevant part in the text.
  • Look for synonyms or similar meaning
  • Delete the 'peanutbutter answer' ( the one that is obviously wrong)

  • Read the question carefully
  • Mark the keywords in the options
