What does the 'Shit-rule' mean?

De shit-regel hoort bij?

1. Present Simple
2. Present Continuous

Maak de zin ontkennend:
"I play football every Saturday."

1. I play not football every Saturday.
2. I don't play football every Saturday.

don't  of doesn't

Als je een zin in de Present Simple ontkennend maakt, gebruik je don't (I/you/we/they) of doesn't (he/she/it)

 I don't like eggs.

He doesn't live in Doetinchem.

It doesn't matter that much.

They don't walk to school.

Present Continuous ontkennend.

Als je de Present Continuous ontkennend maakt, hoef je alleen maar not toe te voegen na am/is/are

Dus zo:

I am listening right now.

I am not listening right now.

If something happens NOW, you use:

1. stam van ww (of +s)
2. am/is/are & ww+ing

If something happens always, never or regularly, you use:

1. stam van ww (of +s)
2. am/is/are & ww+ing
