La Diabless (la-jah-bless)
 The legend says that she was born as a human, but her vanity leads her to make deals with the devil, giving him her soul for eternal youth, transforming her into a demon. One of her feet is a cow hoof. She kills men by luring them into the woods.

Lagahoo
A mythical shapeshifting monster, similar to a werewolf.
 Often, it is seen with chains around its neck, which change size.

Douen (dwen)
These creatures look like small children, but their feet are turned backwards. They always wear a large hat so you can't see their face. They lure children into the woods so they get lost.

Soucouyant (soo-coo-yah)
Old ladies who take off their skin and fly around in a ball of flame, sucking out people's blood.

Now: use your imagination and come up with your own Caribbean folklore character. 
  • People in class: work in pairs. Once you're done, find another pair that is also done and tell each other about your creature. 
  • People online:  you work in bigger groups in breakout rooms, on the next slide you can upload a picture of your work.
