STRATEGY Tackling difficult words

You have already learnt about recognising a Dutch word, recognising a word from a different language and recognising part of a word. Now you are going to learn about guessing the meaning based on the context. You can often guess the meaning of difficult words from the context. Read the sentence in which the word appears very carefully and then try to guess its meaning. If you are unsure, you can check with a dictionary.
