Tips and information - informal e-mail

Algemene tips en informatie

1. Gebruik juiste aanhef en afsluiting: Dear ...... / Kind regards,/Best regards,

2. Informeel taalgebruik, geen moeilijke woorden (maar geen sms-taal: thnx, gr8)

3. Afkortingen mogen: I'm, we don't, you haven't got

4. Een zin met I beginnen MAG (schrijf I altijd met een hoofdletter!)

5. Let op juist gebruik van de tijden (bv tegenwoordige tijd stam+s bij he/she/it)

Start

1.  Know how your dictionary works > read the directions
2. Dictionaries follow the alphabetical order 
   
3. Open your dictionary and take a close look!
4. What do you notice?

In short:

1. Left upper corner > the first word of the page > scanning

2. Right lower corner > the last word of the page > scanning

3. The alphabet on the side > marked black > current letter

4. Multiple meanings > numbers point out multiple meanings

5. Black boxes > additional information

• Correct spelling is of vital importance

1. and, but, or, so, yet -> connect sentences

2. because, since, therefore, due to (vanwege) -> explanation, reason

3. first, next, finally, anyway -> conclusion, to sum up
