Why?

In bijna elke zin gebruik je een ontkenning en is het dus noodzakelijk om deze goed onder de knie te hebben. 

Negations

Negations with 'to do'

Om zinnen ontkennend te maken gebruik je don't of doesn't.

I like chocolate.                                                 I don't like chocolate?

She likes chocolate.                                        She doesn't like chocolate?  

Bij de onderwerpen he/she/it gebruik je doesn't!

Na don't en doesn't  krijg je het hele werkwoord!

Welke vertaling van de zin is juist?
'Zij wil geen appeltaart.'

1. She want not applepie.
2. She not want applepie.
3. She doesn't want applepie.
4. She doesn't wants applepie.

Welke vertaling van de zin is juist?
'Ik laat mijn hond niet uit.'

1. I doesn't walk my dog.

Zinnen met to be

In ontkennende zinnen gebruik je het woordje NOT.

Je doet of bent iets NIET.

I am sick.

--> I am not sick.

He is happy.

--> He is not happy OF 

       he isn't happy

We are late for school.

--> We are not late for school OF we aren't late for school.

Welk woord zet je achter 'are' om een zin ontkennend te maken?

Meedere ww. in een zin? Eerste ww. is hulpww. 

Vb: Can, could, may, might, must, should, will, would, of een vorm van to have. 

Ontkennend maken door NOT erachter te zetten.

Voorbeelden

- Ellis can leave. Ellis can't (cannot) leave.

- They would buy a house. They wouldn't buy a house. 

- I could reach my friend. I couldn't reach my friend.

- I will fall. I WON'T fall. 

Make a negation: I am very tired.

Make a negation:They are my classmates.

Make a negation: I may go home early.

Make a negation: Susan and Lily can come over.

Make a negation: They make a lot of money.
