Opbouw van een e-mail

1. Subject, onderwerp, waar mail je over?

2. Greeting, begroet degene die je een mail stuurt

3. Reason, de reden dat je mailt

4. Main text, de boodschap van je mail

5. Closing, wat verwacht je van degene die je mailt?

6. Greeting, sluit je mail weer af met een groet.

Onderwerp en begroeting

Je begint met het onderwerp links bovenaan je blaadje:

Subject: my holiday

Daarna begroet je de persoon:

Dear Annie, 

Hey Bobby,

Redenen om te schrijven

- Je reageert op een e-mail die je van iemand hebt gekregen. 

- Je wilt weten hoe het met iemand gaat. 

- Je wilt ergens informatie over. 

- etc.

Main text (hoofdtekst)

Schrijf je boodschap aan de lezer van de e-mail. 

- Schrijf op wat je wilt zeggen en begin een nieuwe paragraaf bij elk nieuw onderwerp waar je over gaat praten. 

- Laat altijd een regel tussen de paragrafen, dit maakt het fijner om te lezen! 

Closing (slotzin)

Schrijf op wat je verwacht van de lezer:

- I hope to hear from you soon.

- I would like you to hand this in on Monday.

- Tell me if you're available Saturday.

Final greeting (begroeting)

Sluit je e-mail op met nog een begroeting:

Formeel/Formal (bij iemand die je niet goed kent)

I have been planning your visit carefully. We are going to visit Amsterdam on Monday. And since the Efteling is the best themepark in the Netherlands. We will go there for a day as well. We might be going to Duinrell, but I am not sure yet. Duinrell is the most exciting swimming pool in the country, so make sure you bring your bathing suit! I have planned lots of other things to do, but we will discuss it when you get here.
