Theories
Political and Ideological Motives: Some theories suggest that Oswald was motivated by his Marxist and anti-U.S. government beliefs. He had expressed support for Communist causes, including those of Cuba.

Cold War Tensions: The early 1960s were a time of heightened tension between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, as well as Cuba, following events like the Cuban Missile Crisis. Some theorize that Oswald, who had Soviet and Cuban connections, may have been influenced or directed by foreign actors.

CIA and the Military-Industrial Complex: One popular theory is that elements within the CIA or military were unhappy with Kennedy's policies, particularly his approach toward Cuba, his reluctance to escalate U.S. involvement in Vietnam, and his efforts to reform intelligence operations. Some believe Kennedy's assassination was a coup by these factions.

Theories

Organized Crime: Another theory suggests that organized crime figures were involved in the assassination, possibly in retaliation for Robert F. Kennedy’s (JFK's brother and Attorney General) aggressive crackdown on the mafia.

Multiple Gunmen / Conspiracy: Over the years, many researchers and eyewitnesses have questioned the "lone gunman" theory, suggesting that there were multiple shooters, based on the nature of the wounds and the trajectory of the bullets.
