Goal: I can use the the past tense of to be in the correct context.  

Pay attention!!! where = waar en were = waren ( verleden tijd van zijn)

Past Simple of to be

• Present simple to be = am / are / is       (tegenwoordig)
• Past simple to be = was / were                (verleden)

• Past Simple > Iets is in het verleden gebeurd en is nu afgelopen.
