Conjunctions

Een voegwoord (‘conjunction’) is een woord dat twee deelzinnen ('clauses') met elkaar verbindt. Het Engels kent veel woorden die zinnen aan elkaar kunnen rijgen. Allen geven een andere reden van voegen weer, zoals bijvoorbeeld:

opsomming, reden of oorzaak, gevolg, tegenstelling, etc.

Deze moeten goed geleerd worden zodat je ze op de juiste manier kunt gebruiken.

This is the best restaurant if you like pasta.
Wat is het doel van 'if'?

if you like gadgets = voorwaarde

this is the best store = resultaat
