Candidates are assessed on their ability to:
  • evaluate the effectiveness of their work with others in a team to identify an appropriate local problem with global relevance
  • work with others in a team to consider a range of effective and workable solutions
  • consider the ways in which personal standpoints may have been affected by the research and collaborative experience
  • identify the need for further research in light of the research findings.

Reflective paper

Following the individual presentations, discuss your findings as group members and agree on a set of team solutions to the problem and question posed.
Then each team member writes a reflective paper of maximum 800 words in which they:
reflect on how the team worked together, what could be improved, and any changes to their personal views shaped by the collaborative experience.

Self-reflection

In the simplest terms, self-reflection is setting time aside to evaluate and give serious thought to your emotions, behavior, motivation, thoughts, perspective, and desires. It's about going beyond the surface level to find the “why” behind these elements of ourselves and the experiences we have.

The road you've travelled ...
- forming a team
- deciding on roles and team conduct
- deciding on the topic
- deciding on solutions
- group communication and collaboration
- constructing your presentation(s): text and visuals
- group reflection

Evaluate: Team process
- What was your role?
- What roles did the other team members have?
- Identify and assess the effectiveness of each team member in terms of their roles during the entire process.
- Group dynamics: What effect did the combinations of characters and talents in your team have on you, the process and the results?
- Does your own view on the team process differ from one or more of the team members?  Why? What does it teach you?

Remember your own and your team colours?

Evaluate team process

Slide 15 - Open question

Evaluate: Team assignment
- Peronsal standpoint towards topic and solutions/perspectives: what was your initial standpoint, how did it develop during your (and your team mates') research process and what's your final standpoint?
- Strength and weaknesses of team solutions.
- How did the other perspectives challenge your perspective?
- How does your team research affect future research?
- How could your team research be continued in a productive direction?
