Direct vs indirect speech
Directe rede vs indirecte rede

Directe rede:
John says: "I think I am going to be late for school."
My mum thought: "What will I make for dinner tonight?"

Indirecte rede:
John said he thought he was going to be late for school.
My mum thought what she would make for dinner tonight.

Direct vs indirect speech

In de indirecte rede verandert 'I' vaak naar 'he/she/it'.

Slide 6 - Slide

Direct vs indirect speech
Hoe verander je de werkwoorden?

present simple --> past simple (bijv. work --> worked, do --> did)
present continuous --> past continuous (bijv. is listening --> was listening)
present perfect --> past perfect (bijv. have seen --> had seen)
! past simple --> past perfect (bijv. worked --> had worked)
