Before Miss Salehar moved to the Netherlands she lived in Slovenia and Belgium. In Belgium she was a nanny to three boys. Even after leaving, she has kept in contact with them. For the past 2 years she has been living in Eindhoven. Before she got a job as a teacher she worked at Pullman hotel in Eindhoven but since the fall of 2020 she has been an English teacher at a Dutch high school. She has enjoyed working here for the past 3 years. During her breaks she likes to travel. She has visited many places around Europe in the past few years, however, she has never been to South America. It has been on her bucket list!

you use PAST SIMPLE tense

 The students didn't go home early yesterday.

2. PRESENT PERFECT
1. started in the past and still continues

- My parents have owned this house since 2001.
2. happened in the past - emphasises the result NOW
- I have done my homework already, so I can relax now.

- Jane has been to Spain before.
